Dr. Mansoureh Kiani Dehkordi, born in 1973, is a highly experienced psychiatrist and analytical psychotherapist with over two decades of service in Iran’s mental health sector.
She has been working as a psychiatrist at Razi Psychiatric Centre since 2002 and joined the Nik Andishan Psychological Clinic in 2007. Throughout her career, Dr. Kiani has taken on key leadership roles, including serving as the Head of the Educational Development Office at Razi Psychiatric Centre from 2019 to 2022, where she focused on enhancing mental health training programs.
Previously, from 2015 to 2017, she coordinated non-pharmaceutical and rehabilitative treatments at Razi, showcasing her commitment to integrative care.
Dr. Kiani’s academic journey began with her general physician degree from Shahrekord University of Medical Sciences in 1998, followed by her specialty in psychiatry from the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences in 2003.
She completed a fellowship in psychotherapy at Tehran University of Medical Sciences from 2014 to 2016, gaining expertise in couple therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and analytical supervision under renowned supervisors like Dr. Sanati and Dr. Sobhani. Additionally, Dr. Kiani has translated several important psychiatric works, including Balint Group Work: Analyzing Professional Relationships (2018) and Restoring the Core of Clinical Practice: What is a Balint Group and How Does it Help? (2019).
These translations contribute to making advanced psychotherapy knowledge accessible to Persian-speaking professionals. Her contributions also extend to academia and professional development.
Dr. Kiani has led five Balint groups at Razi Psychiatric Centre from 2017 to 2020 and supervised Balint sessions at Ali Asghar Children’s Hospital in 2018.
She has actively contributed to the academic field through numerous publications and presentations, including research on the impact of Balint group participation for healthcare workers during COVID-19 and studies on telepsychiatry published in leading journals. Dr. Kiani’s ongoing efforts in mental health, education, and publication underscore her dedication to advancing psychiatry and psychotherapy both within Iran and on a global scale.
